Sirsil reapproved to export to China

Chinese authorities have once again authorized Sirsil to export meat products to that market. GACC stated that products with a production date from August 29, 2025, will be allowed entry, according to OIG+X.

Sirsil had lost its approval to export to China in early March, along with other companies from Brazil (3), Argentina (2), and Mongolia (1). At that time, no reason was given for the suspension.

The Uruguayan plant had been warned earlier in the year due to the presence of fluazuron residues in one of its shipments to China, which prompted the company to issue a statement to its supplying producers urging them to take greater care with the withdrawal periods between applying these products and sending cattle for slaughter.

In the first two months of 2025, Sirsil shipped meat products to China worth US$ 3.6 million, including frozen bone-in and boneless beef, offal, and beef tallow.
